AFGHANE gallery carpet, (Afghanistan), late 20th century. Dimensions: 290 x 74cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A brick field hosts twenty-two small octagonal ghüls, interspersed with stylized stylized starry floral compositions. Anthracite main border with plant garlands flanked by two geometrically-decorated brick counter-borders. Kilim at each end. Beautiful homogeneity.
