INDONESIA Central Java, 10th century. Important high relief representing three deities and two yakshas. The two deities on the left hold a bowl in their hands. They are wearing diadems and high crowns and dressed in pleated loincloths with a long central panel. The scene is framed by two palms. The round-shaped assistants are seated beside them, waving a plant fan. Volcanic stone from Java. Dim: 105 cm x 63 cm, thickness: 19 cm. Mounted on a large base. Total dimensions with the base: high: 156 cm x 106cm x 32 cm. Condition: visible breaks and gaps. Provenance: ex collection of a Chilean diplomat who died in 2017.
