Draped in a camel skin, the saint is represented in a preaching habit illustrating the passage from the Gospel of Mark: "John had a garment of camel hair, and a leather belt around his loins. He ate locusts and wild honey. He preached...". Rests on a blackened wood base. Beautiful Flemish work, in the spirit of the seventeenth century. Height : 70 cm.
