Carving in pear tree representing the Virgin and Child. - Lot 292
Carving in pear tree representing the Virgin and Child. Presented on the crescent moon, the crowned Virgin holds on her left hand the Child Jesus sitting on a cushion. He blesses with his right hand and holds the orb in his left hand. The Virgin is dressed in a dress with a laced bodice, draped in a rich mantle with very pronounced folds, closed at the neck by a clasp and whose border is highlighted by a braid decorated with small cabochons. The fine features of the Virgin's face are framed by an abundance of wavy hair falling on her shoulders and back. The left hand of the Virgin is redone, missing the cross on the orb held by the Child Jesus. Height : 58 cm.
