IRAN, Important Khamseh from the region of Shiraz and Quasgai, late 19th, early 20th. Hall carpet in wool velvet on wool foundation. Midnight blue field decorated with multiple symbols representative of the soil including tarantulas, crabs, Botehs, insects and stylized flower buds in the form of broken diamonds ivory and ruby adorned with three large geometric cruciform medallions. Four spandrels with decor reminiscent of the central medallions. Main border with geometrically stylized floral bulbs in parma and navy. 2.56 x 1.62 m (Oxidation and natural wear)
