Baptistery with silver backsplash Rare liturgical object in the form of a shell with a scalloped outline supported by three angels in bust form with outstretched wings resting on a moving foot. Elegant decoration with repoussé composed of plants, foliage, gadroons and acanthus leaves. The backrest is decorated with pomegranates, foliage and a double-headed eagle struck with a heart, moving away from the heraldic symbol of the Spanish empire to get closer to the religious symbolism of the pelican. Two kinds of baptismal shells are used: the simple shell allowing to pour the water on the head of the baptized and the shell with backsplash, real portable baptistery that was found in private chapels or those of the Third Orders.
