Important mantelpiece representing Diana the Huntress in chased bronze with a double patina of gold and gold leaf, including : - a clock set in a griotte marble column with fluted asparagus rising in gilded bronze encircled by a frieze of chiseled foliage surmounted by two goddesses dressed in antique style returning from the hunt, holding a bow, arrows and a bird on their shoulders - and a pair of torches supported by two dancing female figures. Beginning of the 20th century. Height of the central piece: 75 cm diameter of the column 30cm. In 1885 the Jean Jules Graux et Fils factory was sold at auction at the Hôtel Drouot by Maître Antoine DEGAS, auctioneer in Paris. Our set is probably the lot 1, 2, 3 of the catalogue of the sale.
